The thoughtfully planned community of Serrano Heights is a textbook example of SunCal Companies’ dedication to balancing new-home development and environmental preservation. In order to avoid a potentially difficult problem with power-line easements, the company worked closely with the City of Orange, the County of Orange and the City of Anaheim, and involved local members of the community in the planning process. This cooperative effort helped find a creative solution to the power-line issue while still developing a specific plan that would work for both SunCal and the existing members of the community.
Ultimately, SunCal reduced the number of residential lots by almost 700 to 1,171, creating a park and approximately 200 acres of preserved open space that perfectly fit into this picturesque hillside community. Plus, the extra space and reduced density allowed award-winning homebuilders to create more expansive and luxurious homes with sweeping, unobstructed views.
